Almond English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. white corn syrup
    3 Tbsp. hot water
    11 oz. milk chocolate bits
    toasted almonds
Preparation
    Mix ingredients, except almonds.
    Cook to 295\u00b0, stirring constantly.
    Stir in almonds.
    Pour onto ungreased cookie sheet. Working quickly, spread as thinly as possible.
    Melt chocolate in double boiler and spread on the cooled toffee.
    Put in a cool place to harden and then turn over and spread chocolate on other side.
    Cool until firm.
    Break into desired pieces.
