Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. raisins
1 c. water
3/4 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. nuts
Preparation

Simmer raisins and water in saucepan over low heat for 20 to 30 minutes.
Drain raisins liquid into measuring cup; add water to make 1/2 cup.
Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in raisins liquid.
Blend flour, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamon.
Stir into other ingredients.
Add rolled oats, nuts and raisins.
Drop on ungreased cookie sheet 2-inches apart.
Bake at 400\u00b0.
Makes 6 to 7 dozen.
