Vegetable Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef cubes or hamburger
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    2 c. water
    2 c. tomato juice
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    2 medium onions, chopped
    1 can whole kernel corn
    1 c. cubed potatoes
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. green peas
    1 c. lima beans
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cook beef in hot oil in large Dutch oven until brown.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Bring to boil.
    Cover, reduce heat and simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
    Add additional water during cooking, if necessary.
    Serve with crackers or cornbread.
