Paradise Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten well
    1 small can pineapple, crushed
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
    1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Combine sugar, shortening and eggs until fluffy.
    Sift flour, soda, baking powder and salt together 3 times.
    Add to sugar mixture, blend well.
    Add pineapple, vanilla, nuts and cherries, blending well.
    Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0 in an angel food pan.
