Magic Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. kosher dill pickles
    1 Tbsp. pickling spice
    1/2 c. vinegar
    3 c. sugar
Preparation
    Drain pickles.
    Slice pickles 1/2-inch thick.
    Put pickling spice and vinegar in 1/2 gallon jar.
    Add drained pickles.
    Pour 3 cups sugar on top (do not stir).
    Close jar and let stand 8 days. After pickles are drained, add another quart of drained pickles and 1 cup sugar.
    Let stand 10 days.
