Angel Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. sugar
    16 saltine crackers
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until foamy.
    Add 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar.
    Beat until stiff.
    Gradually add 1 cup sugar.
    Fold in saltines (crumbled), vanilla and pecans.
    Pour into lightly buttered pie pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
    When cool, cover with whipping cream.
    Sprinkle with coconut, if desired.
    Chill.
