Vegetable Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can small English peas, drained
    1 can whole corn, drained
    1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
    1 can diced carrots, drained
    3/4 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 to 3/4 head chopped lettuce
    1/4 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
    mayonnaise for mixing
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except lettuce and mayonnaise.
    Chill. Mix in lettuce and mayonnaise just before serving.
