Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. white corn syrup
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 lb. raw peanuts
    1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cook first 4 ingredients to 310\u00b0 or hard crack stage.
    Add butter, vanilla and peanuts.
    Cook until amber color and add soda and beat well.
    Spread as thin as possible with buttered knives. When cool, loosen and break into pieces.
    Secret to successful brittle is to work very fast to spread thin.
