Yum Yum Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. molasses filled to 3/4 with white sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. soda
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Blend molasses, sugar, shortening and egg in electric mixer, about 2 minutes.
    Sift dry ingredients and add gradually.
    Add boiling water last.
    It makes a thin batter.
    Pour into 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    It makes very light gingerbread that doesn't get dry.
