Pickled Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pod hot pepper
    1 clove garlic
    1 tsp. dill seed
    1 gal. vinegar
    1/2 gal. water
    2 c. canning salt
    pinch alum
Preparation
    Mix ingredients together and bring to a boil and pour over okra in pint jars.
    Seal with two piece lids while mixture is hot. Makes 24 pints.
