Cooked Chocolate Fudge Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    1 c. milk
    4 sq. unsweetened chocolate
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put the sugar, syrup, milk and chocolate in large sauce pan. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
    Cook until a small amount of mixture forms a very soft ball in very cold water (232 degrees on candy thermometer) stirring occasionally to prevent scorching.
    Remove from heat and add butter without stirring and cook until lukewarm about 1 hour.
    Add vanilla and beat until frosting is creamy.
    Spread quickly over cake.
