Dry Mustard Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. vinegar
    5 c. water
    6 2/3 c. sugar
    1 c. dry mustard
    1/2 c. salt
    small cucumbers to pickle
Preparation
    Pack cucumbers in clean jars.
    Put a pinch of alum over cucumbers.
    Put the rest of the ingredients in a pan and bring to a boil.
    Pour over the cucumbers.
