Texas Style Beef Brisket And Barbecue Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1/2 lb. melted butter
1 c. cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. black pepper
1 Tbsp. red pepper
4 Tbsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper sauce (Tabasco)
3 tsp. dry mustard
garlic powder to taste
Preparation
-
Combine all ingredients.
Bake 10 to 12 pounds whole (untrimmed) beef brisket in low oven for several hours (3 to 4) until very tender.
(We use a Brown-N-Bag or cover with foil.)
Put cooked meat on low temperature.
Grill with lots of mesquite (hickory will do, barely) wood for smoke.
Baste with barbecue sauce every 15 minutes for 2 to 4 hours (this drives the neighbors crazy!).
Sauce is good for chicken, too.
