Nutty Walnut Drops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 c. whole wheat flour
    2 Tbsp. wheat germ
    1 Tbsp. buttermilk
    1/3 c. maple syrup
    1/4 tsp. finely grated lemon rind
    2 c. chopped walnuts
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Place butter and maple syrup in small saucepan over low heat. Just when butter melts, remove from heat.
    Stir in vanilla and lemon rind.
    In a medium bowl, combine flour, wheat germ and walnuts.
    Place buttermilk in cup and add maple syrup.
    Stir until dissolved.
    Add all ingredients together; stir until combined. Drop batter by the teaspoon onto lightly oiled baking sheets.
    Bake in preheated 325\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown.
    Cool on a wire rack.
