Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    25 large cucumbers
    12 medium white onions
    1/2 c. salt
    1 qt. vinegar
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. white mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Cook unpeeled cucumbers in water overnight.
    Slice cucumbers and onions and place in pan and sprinkle with salt; let stand 1 hour and rinse.
    Add vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, celery seed and turmeric powder.
    Bring all ingredients to a boil.
    Pack pickles in hot jars.
    Close.
    Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes. Start to count processing as soon as water returns to boiling.
