Dutch Apple Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, lightly beaten (yolk can be removed)
3/4 c. milk (can be skim)
5 to 8 medium apples, peeled, cored and cut into 12ths
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. butter or substitute
Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder and salt in bowl.
Work butter into flour with pastry blender.
Stir egg and milk together and then into flour.
Turn into 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Press the thin edge of apple pieces, in rows, into the dough.
Combine remaining ingredients and sprinkle over apples.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
Serve hot or with a lemon sauce cool.
