Ice Cream Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box vanilla wafers, crushed or 3 c. crushed graham crackers
    1/3 c. margarine
    1/2 c. nuts or peanuts
    2 1/2 sq. semi-sweet chocolate or approximately 1/2 c. chocolate chips
    1 c. 10x sugar, sifted
    1/2 c. margarine
    3 egg yolks, beaten
    3 egg whites
    1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
Preparation
    Mix the first 3 ingredients together.
    Put 1/2 of crumbs in bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Melt in double boiler the chocolate, sugar, margarine and egg yolks; cook together for 5 minutes.
    Beat egg whites very stiff; fold in chocolate mixture.
    Cool for 5 minutes, then smooth over crumbs.
    Chill, then spread ice cream over chocolate mixture.
    Cover with remaining crumbs.
    Serves 10 to 12 people.
