Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
2 egg yolks
1/2 c. white sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. flour
2 c. milk
Preparation

Brown 1/2 cup white sugar.
Add 1/2 cup hot water.
Let stand on warm covered until all the sugar and water is dissolved.
Cook until thick.
Remove from stove.
Add 2 tablespoons butter.
Pour into baked crust.
Cover with meringue made from 2 egg whites and 2 tablespoons sugar.
