Ingredients

2 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. bacon fat
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts
Preparation

Mix sugar and bacon fat together.
Add egg and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and nuts.
Shape into rolls and wrap in wax paper. Chill.
Cut into thin slices; place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
