Mock Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    prepared pie shell
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    18 soda crackers
Preparation
    Combine water and sugar in saucepan on hot stove.
    When water is hot, add cream of tartar.
    When this begins to boil, break soda crackers into fourths and drop into the water.
    Gently push under for about 5 minutes.
    Pour into prepared pie shell.
    It will seem thin, but will thicken as it bakes.
    Cover generously with butter and cinnamon.
    Place top crust on and bake at 400\u00b0 for 1/2 hour.
