Squash Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large yellow squash
    4 onions
    2 green peppers
    1/4 c. salt
    cold water
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Grind squash, onions and green peppers; mix together.
    Add the salt.
    Cover with cold water and let stand 1 hour.
    Put vinegar, sugar and spices together and boil 3 minutes.
    Add drained squash. Don't wash off the salt.
    Simmer together for 5 minutes.
    Pack in hot, sterilized jars and seal.
