Potatoes Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. hash browns
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1/2 can milk
    1 small onion, diced
    1 stick butter or margarine
    shredded cheese (you choose type and amount)
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter.
    Add soup, milk and softened cream cheese.
    Stir and keep warm until mixture is smooth.
    Put hash browns in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
    Pour sauce over potatoes and top with shredded cheese of choice.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
