Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. brown sugar
    1 can Eagle Brand milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 sticks butter
    1 c. white Karo syrup
Preparation
    Mix sugar, milk, butter and syrup.
    Cook to soft ball stage, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla. Pour into buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Let cool.
    Cut into pieces and wrap in wax paper.
