Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 stick margarine
2 1/2 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 c. sweet milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 Tbsp. coconut flavoring
3 c. cake flour or plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. coconut
Preparation

Cream the shortening and margarine well.
Add sugar, a little at a time, and continue creaming.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Add milk and flavoring.
Add dry ingredients; beat well.
Fold in coconut.
Bake in a large tube pan for about 1 1/2 hours at 300\u00b0.
Let cool in pan at least 15 minutes.
This cake needs no icing.
