Western Beef Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. lean ground beef
1/3 c. chopped onion
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/4 tsp. each: garlic powder, salt and pepper
1 (11 oz.) can corn, drained
instant mashed potatoes, made according to directions for 4 to 6 servings
1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies, drained
8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 medium tomato, chopped
Preparation

In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion; drain well. Add tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper; blend well. Spoon into a 2 1/2 to 3-quart lightly greased casserole.
Spoon corn evenly over meat mixture.
Stir green chilies into potatoes and spread over corn.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly around edges. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Top with chopped tomatoes.
Makes 6 servings.
