Chocolate-Cherry Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. (2 layer size) devil's food cake mix
    1/2 c. butter
    7 c. sifted confectioners sugar (about 1 3/4 lb.)
    1/3 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling, chilled
Preparation
    Grease and lightly flour two 9 x 1 1/2-inch round baking pans; set aside.
    In a large mixing bowl, prepare the cake mix batter according to the package directions.
    Turn the batter into the prepared pans.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool in the pans for 10 minutes on wire racks.
    Remove from pans; cool thoroughly.
