Roasted Asparagus With Orange Scented Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. slivered onions
    1 Tbsp. water
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme
    1 tsp. olive oil
    2 (2 x 1/2-inch) pieces oranges rind, cut into thin strips
    dash of fresh ground pepper
    1 1/2 lb. fresh asparagus
    1 tsp. olive oil
Preparation
    Combine onions, water, thyme, olive oil and orange rind in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Stir well.
    Cover and bake at 400\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until onions are golden and brown.
    Remove from oven; stir in pepper.
    Push onion mixture to side of dish.
