Sour Cream Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. margarine or butter, softened
    6 eggs, separated
    1 Tbsp. vanilla or lemon flavor
    3 c. plain flour or Swans Down cake flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. dairy sour cream
Preparation
    Heat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Grease and flour tube pan 10 x 4-inches. Beat sugar, margarine, egg yolks and vanilla in a large bowl on low speed, scraping bowl constantly every 30 seconds.
    Beat on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally for 2 minutes.
    Beat in flour, salt and baking soda alternately with sour cream on low speed.
    Beat egg whites in a large bowl until stiff.
    Fold into batter.
    Pour into pan.
    Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; 80 to 90 minutes.
    Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan.
