7-Up Fruit Mold - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. cold water
    3 c. boiling water
    1/3 c. lemon juice
    1 2/3 c. 7-Up
    3 envelopes unflavored Knox gelatine
    3/4 c. sugar or substitute
    2 or 3 drops food coloring (optional)
    4 1/2 c. chilled, chopped, fresh fruit or drained fruit cocktail or frozen fruit with water
Preparation
    In a large bowl, sprinkle Knox gelatine over cold water; let stand 1 minute.
    Add boiling water and stir until gelatine is completely dissolved.
    Stir in remaining fluids and sweetener. Chill mixture until consistency of unbeaten egg whites.
    Fold in fruit and pour into mold or 2-quart serving bowl.
    Chill until firm.
    Makes 12 to 14 servings.
