Almond Apple Wheat Stuffing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. chopped Granny Smith apples
    1 1/2 c. sliced almonds
    3/4 c. chopped onions
    3/4 c. chopped celery
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
    1/4 tsp. salt
    6 c. cubed whole wheat bread
    1 c. raisins
    1 egg, lightly beaten
    1/3 to 1/2 c. apple cider or juice
Preparation
    Saute apples, almonds, onion and celery in butter for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Stir in cinnamon, poultry seasoning and salt. Toss together bread cubes and raisins. Add apple mixture.
    Stir egg in 1/3 cup apple cider. Toss into bread mixture. Add remaining apple cider if a moister stuffing is desired.
    This will stuff a 15 to 20 pound turkey or 2 large roasting chickens.
    Spoon any remaining stuffing into a lightly greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Bake, covered.
    Makes 10 cups.
