Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
3/4 c. water
1 c. corn syrup
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
3 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. nuts or 1 c. candied cherries (optional)
Preparation

Cook 3 cups sugar, 3/4 cup water and corn syrup until fairly hard ball when tested (260\u00b0).
Remove from heat and pour slowly over egg whites.
At this time, starting cooking 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water.
Cook until very hard ball (300\u00b0).
Add to first mixture and beat.
Add vanilla and nuts or cherries.
Drop on wax paper with teaspoon.
Makes about 75 drops.
