Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped green peppers
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. ground cloves
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2 1/2 c. ketchup
    2 Tbsp. ground garlic
    1 c. water
    1 (16 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
    2 bay leaves
    3 Tbsp. cooking oil
Preparation
    In a frypan, place the cooking oil.
    Add celery, onions and green
    peppers.
    Saute for 5 minutes.
    Add flour, cloves, sugar, cinnamon, bay leaves and ketchup.
    Mix well.
    Add water and tomatoes.
    Heat to boiling point; boil 5 minutes or until thick, stirring constantly.
    Reduce heat and simmer another 5 minutes, stirring to prevent scorching.
    Serve with spaghetti, meat balls, fish,
    veal
    and pork.
    Makes approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon.
