Old Time Lemon Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
5 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
3 egg yolks
3 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. lemon rind
1/3 c. lemon juice
1 (8-inch) baked pie shell
Preparation

Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Add milk gradually and stir until smooth. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 10 minutes. Stir a small amount of hot mixture into beaten egg yolks, stirring constantly.
Combine with remaining hot mixture. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes.
Pour into unbaked pie shell.
Prepare meringue with egg whites.
Place on pie and brown.
