Stewed Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 to 4 lb. chicken
    2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. minced parsley (optional)
Preparation
    Clean chicken; rub skin with baking soda and wash off carefully.
    Cut up chicken; peel off excess fat.
    Fit chicken pieces completely in cooking kettle.
    Add salt; cook 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until tender.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add milk and stir until mixture is dampened.
    Add parsley; stir until distributed evenly.
    Add to chicken.
    Cook until done.
    Remove chicken to platter and dumplings to gravy bowl.
    Makes 5 to 6 servings.
