Phyllis Snyder'S Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. cold water
    1 c. black walnuts, finely chopped
    4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with water.
    Fold in nuts and egg whites.
    Grease two 8-inch layer pans.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Frost with any white frosting; sprinkle with 1/4 cup chopped walnuts.
