Pelican Pub Shrimp Scampi - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled and deveined*
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 Tbsp. chopped shallots
    3 Tbsp. garlic, finely chopped
    6 Tbsp. cream sherry
    1 c. whipping cream (can use half and half, if desired)
    salt and pepper to taste
    parsley to taste
    1/2 lb. linguini or fine spaghetti
Preparation
    *If using cooked shrimp, keep in low heat warming oven and add at the end.
