Cranberry Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 C. sugar
    1 C. water
    1 package (6 oz.) lemon flavored gelatin
    4 C. fresh cranberries, ground
    2 large unpeeled apples, cored and ground
    1 unpeeled orange, seeded and ground
    1/2 C. chopped pecans
    Lettuce leaves, optional
    Mayonnaise, optional
Preparation
    In a saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Remove from the heat; immediately stir in gelatin until dissolved.
    Chill until mixture is the consistency of unbeaten egg whites.
    Fold in the cranberries, apples, orange, and nuts.
    Pour into mold.
    Chill until firm.
    Unmold onto lettuce. Garnish with mayonnaise.
