Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. whole milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla or dash of nutmeg
Preparation
    Combine milk and sugar; scald over hot water.
    Beat eggs well. Add a bit of hot milk mixture; blend well.
    Return to double boiler and cook over low heat until mixture coats.
    Remove.
    Add vanilla or nutmeg.
