Fresh Cherry Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    4 c. cherries
    1/4 tsp. almond extract
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Heat the oven to 400\u00b0.
    Mix sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon in 2-quart saucepan. Stir in cherries and almond extract. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.
    When starts to boil, time for 1 minute.
    Pour ingredients from saucepan into ungreased cake pan (keep cherry mixture hot in oven).
