Christmas Trees - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. almond extract
green food coloring

Preparation

Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
Cream the shortening, adding sugar gradually.
Add unbeaten egg, flour, salt, baking powder and almond extract.
Add a few drops of green food coloring; mix well. Fill cookie press.
Form cookies on ungreased cookie sheets, using the tree plate.
Decorate with sugar or tiny candies.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen.
