Banana Pecan Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. mashed bananas
1/4 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. chopped pecans
2 c. sifted cake flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening.
Add sugar gradually; cream well.
Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
Add bananas. Sift
together
flour,
baking powder, soda and salt. Add alternately
with
buttermilk
to
which
vanilla has been added. Stir in pecans.
Pour into 2 (9-inch) greased cake pans and bake for 30 to
35
minutes
in
a
moderate
oven
(350\u00b0). Remove from pans and cool.
Spread whipped cream between layers and on top and sides of cake, or frost with 7 minute frosting.
