Sweet Sour Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head red cabbage, shredded
    1/4 lb. butter or margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 large apple, cut up
    1/2 (10 oz.) jar currant jelly
    1/4 c. vinegar
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    Put shredded cabbage in boiling water for 15 minutes.
    Drain. Place in pan; add all other ingredients.
    Simmer 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
    If too watery, remove lid.
