Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger
    cans of vegetables or 1 bag frozen vegetables (use whichever vegetables you like: tomatoes, corn, green beans, lima beans, green peas, potatoes and carrots)
    1 (46 oz.) can tomato juice
    1 large onion
    1/2 head shredded cabbage (optional)
    1 c. cooked black-eyed peas (optional, a good way to use leftovers)
    salt, pepper and spices to your taste
Preparation
    In at least a 5-quart pot, brown hamburger in a small amount of water.
    I separate the hamburger by stirring it with a fork as it browns.
    Add tomato juice, vegetables, etc. and seasonings. Simmer for at least an hour to blend the flavors and spices.
