Ham Smothered In Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs. Ham Steak
3 Cups Raw Sweet Potatoes, diced
1 Cup Hot Water
1 Tbsp. Butter, melted
3 Tbsp. Sugar
Preparation

Cut ham 3/4 inch thick and into serving-sized pieces and brown slightly on both sides.
Arrange over the bottom of a buttered baking dish.
Cover with sweet potatoes, add hot water and melted butter, and sprinkle with sugar.
(a little powdered cinnamon may be added if desired).
Cover and bake in hot oven (400 degrees) for 45-50 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked and ham is tender. Uncover and let brown attractively before serving in the baking dish.
