Grandma'S German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. potatoes, boiled in their jackets
    6 to 8 slices bacon, fried crisp and broken
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. sugar (scant)
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Boil potatoes in jackets.
    When done, peel and slice.
    Remove bacon from pan; put on top of sliced potatoes.
    Cook 1 large onion in bacon fat.
    Add flour, salt, pepper, 1 cup of water, sugar, vinegar and celery seed.
    Heat to the boiling point.
    Keep stirring until thick.
    Pour over sliced potatoes.
    Let stand 1 hour.
    Serve warm.
    Enough for 4 to 6 people.
