Anise Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 Tbsp. anise extract
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1/4 c. sliced almonds
Preparation
    Stir baking powder and flour; set aside.
    Cream butter with sugar; add eggs, one at a time.
    Add anise and almond extracts; stir in flour mixture and nuts.
    Divide dough in thirds; spread in 15-inch long strips on greased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes until lightly brown.
    Remove from oven and slice in 3/4-inch slices.
    Turn on sides.
    Bake 10 to 15 minutes until light brown.
    Turn to other side.
    Bake 10 to 15 minutes again until light brown.
    Makes about 70 bars.
