Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 lb. sliced cucumbers
lime
2 lb. salt
2 qt. vinegar
6 lb. sugar
1/2 box pickling spices
Preparation

Slice cucumbers and place in crock.
Cover with lime (mix 1 cup of lime to 1 gallon of water).
Soak 12 to 14 hours.
Rinse well and with salt water, soak 4 hours.
Drain and rinse well.
Bring to boil the vinegar, sugar and spices (placed in cloth bag).
Pour over cucumbers.
Let soak overnight.
Cook syrup and cucumbers in large pot until cucumbers are clean; pack in hot jars and seal.
