Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    2 medium tomatoes
    1 cucumber
    green onions
    radishes
    2 (8 oz.) cans sliced water chestnuts, drained
    1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
    2 c. mayonnaise
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    10 slices crisp fried bacon, crumbled
Preparation
    Tear lettuce leaves.
    Chop tomatoes, cucumber, green onions and radishes.
    Layer in a salad bowl beginning with lettuce in order listed.
    Mix together mayonnaise and sugar.
    Let this sit in refrigerator for 1 hour; pour over salad.
    Top with cheese and crumbled bacon.
