Sorghum Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. sorghum or honey
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Mix sugar and shortening. Add eggs, sorghum or honey and buttermilk. Sift together remaining ingredients; add to sugar, shortening and egg mixture and blend well. Bake in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan, greased and lightly floured, 30 to 40 minutes. Test for doneness; insert a wooden pick in center.
    It should remove cleanly.
