Green Tomato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 medium green tomatoes, some just beginning to ripen
    1 medium onion, chopped fine
    24 saltine crackers
    1 Tbsp. melted margarine
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/8 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Chop tomatoes in 1/4-inch pieces. Put in bowl.
    Chop onions very fine.
    Add to tomatoes.
    Crush crackers very fine.
    Add to tomatoes.
    Pour butter, salt and lots of pepper. Mix.
    Add buttermilk and mix well. Pour into 2-quart greased casserole. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Brown under broiler, if necessary. Serves 6 to 8.
